To provide a digital camera capable of enabling an information device to easily use related application software even if the information device does not have the related application software without requiring the information device to store the related application software in its storage, so that the convenience can be greatly improved by separating a flash memory incorporated in a digital camera into a ROM area and an RAM area, and previously storing the related application software in the ROM area.

In this flash memory control method, the flash memory 20 incorporated in the digital camera 1 is separated into the ROM area 22 and the RAM area 24 and is controlled by a memory controller 40, and the application software with which the information device can process previously picked-up image data is stored in the ROM area 22.
