PURPOSE: To make fill-in flash photographing while preventing power consumption and maintaining snapshotting property by feeding the power to a boosting circuit in accordance with the input of a photometry start signal from a camera at the time of turning on a power supply switch.
CONSTITUTION: The titled device is equipped with a power switch MAS for power supply and a terminal JF1, to which a photometry start signal which indicates the photometry is started at a camera is inputted. If the photometry start signal is inputted through the terminal JF1 while the power switch MAS is turned on the power supply to a boosting circuit DD is performed. Therefore, unnecessary power consumption of the boosting circuit to boost up a power supply battery voltage to the light emitting voltage of a xenon tube when no photographing operation of a camera can be prevented.
