PURPOSE: To make it possible to conform the angle of view of a lens to the angle of illumination by moving the flashing part of a U-shaped or spiral shaped flash discharge tube forward or backward by a reciprocating mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: A U-shaped or spiral shaped flash discharge tube 2 is provided movably forward and backward to the center of a reflecting mirror 1. When the flash discharge tube 2 is moved forward or backward by a reciprocating mechanism 3, light beams from the flash discharge tube 2 are reflected by the reflecting mirror 1, and the angle of illumination of light beams irradiated forward becomes narrow when moving forward, and becomes wider when moving backward. Thus, the angle of illumination can be changed responding to change of view angle of a zoom lens or responding to change of view angle at the time of changing lenses.
