To provide a flat fitting for a handrail end by incorporating a fitting B having hollow sleeves 9 and 9' integrated with the downward-facing U-shape 6 of a body 5, and a handrail pipe C, into a fitting A having a protrusion 2 on a rectangular seat 1.

The hollow protrusion 2 is provided on the rectangular seat 1 of the fitting A and a tapped hole 3 is provided in its upper surface. A wood screw hole 4 is also provided in the hollow protrusion 2. The fitting B comprises the body 5 with the hollow, downward-facing U-shape 6 having a countersunk screw hole 7 provided in its upper surface. A step 8 is provided integrally with the body 5 and the hollow sleeves 9 and 9' are provided. The hollow sleeves 9 and 9' of the fitting B are inserted into the cut bore 10 of the handrail pipe C up to the step 8 and the outer surface 11 of the pipe is set to be flush with the outer surface of the body 5 of the fitting B so that the fittings A and B and the handrail pipe C are integrated together.
