Abstract:
To provide a method and tool for selectively forming a bottom of a cup or container in order to reduce the volume of a material for the cup or the bottom.SOLUTION: A shaped blank 10 includes a drawn-out portion 38 and/or a flat-head protrusion 20. There are also provided a tool assembly configured to form a shaped blank 10 including a drawn-out portion 38 and/or a flat-head protrusion 22 and a method 1000 for forming a shaped blank 10 including a drawn-out portion 38 and/or a flat-head protrusion 20. The shaped blank 10 includes a base 12 and an accompanied sidewall 14. The drawn-out portion 38 and/or flat-head protrusion 22 is arranged in a base 12 of the shaped blank, and the drawn-out portion 38 and/or flat-head protrusion 22 has a thickness smaller than the sidewall 14. The drawn-out portion 38 and/or flat-head protrusion 22 uses a less material as compared with an unshaped base having a nearly equal thickness to the sidewall 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5A
