PURPOSE: To make cooling effective and uniform by forming a plurality of grooves on the rear of an electromagnetic-coil mounting surface of a core and supplying air in the grooves with air for cooling.
CONSTITUTION: A flat linear induction type electromagnetic pump comprises a duct 1 having reinforcing plates 2a∼2b and sodium chambers 5a∼5c therein, cores 4a, 4b, electromagnetic coils 6a, 6b, etc. Ventilating grooves 13a are shaped besides grooves 12a into which the electromagnetic coil 6a is fitted, on the core 4a. The core 4b also is provided with the same. The electromagnetic pump comprises such cores 4a, 4b. Blowout holes 9a, 9b are provided on the lower sections of the ventilating grooves 13a, 13b in a duct 8 besides a blowout hole 9 for feeding cooling air in spaces which is defined by surfaces of the cores 4a, 4b and the coils 6a, 6b, the surfaces facing the duct 1. Accordingly, the cores 4a, 4b are cooled effectively, and the sticking sections of the electromagnetic coils 6a, 6b can be cooled.
