PURPOSE: To expand effective membrane areas by covering the outflow and inflow ports for feed gases of a superposed flat-membrane module with a feed cover to regulate the sectional area of the feed gas passage depending on the quantity of the feed gases, causing said gases to pass through the module several times.
CONSTITUTION: A superposed flat membrane module is assembled by superposing feed gas chamber frames 1, gas selectively permeable membranes 2 and a permeating gas chamber frame 3 and clamping them between an upper plate 9 and a lower plate 10. The outflow port 5 and inflow port 4 of feed gases are covered by feed covers, and holes 7 are separately formed so that permeating gas gathered from permeating gas outflow port 6 is recovered from a nozzle 11 as shown by a dotted arrow. Spacers 8 such as a net etc. are housed in the frame 3 so that the feed gas is made to pass several times through the module, thereby effective membrane areas can be increased.
