Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat monofilament of which the cross section and diameter is uniform all over the range in the longitudinal direction, so that any abnormal part in diameter is not contained, and to provide a method for effectively producing the flat monofilament.
SOLUTION: In this flat monofilament, any cross sectional area of the abnormal part in diameter is not more than 1.4 times the average cross sectional area of the monofilament. The method for producing the monofilament comprises preventing twisting caused by revolution of traveling yarn during production by effectively using grooved free guide rollers and smooth-faced free rollers and further monitoring fluctuation in diameter with a diameter fluctuation detector.
