Title:
THERMAL INK ROLL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3222279
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve print durability by preparing a thermal ink roll with hot-melt ink having the viscosity of specific cPs and having a Ti value (thixotropy index) of a specified value or below.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal ink roll is prepared by impregnating an open-cell foam, in heating, with hot-melt ink having the viscosity of 50 to 8000cPs at a temperature 140°C and having a Ti value of 1.5 or below. The hot-melt ink contains thermoplastic resin and a coloring agent and has an adhesion imparting agent, wax and a plasticizer compounded as occasion demands, and it can be prepared by heat-melting these constituents and by heat-dispersing them by using a dispersing machine such as a roll mill. As for concrete examples of the thermoplastic resin, an ethylene-acetate vinyl copolymer, polyester, polyamide, polyethylene, etc., can be mentioned. As to concrete examples of the adhesion imparting agent, rosin, a rosin derivative, terpene, denatured terpene resin, etc., can be mentioned.
