To provide a TFT array substrate which is obtained by integrating a color filter and a black matrix, a liquid crystal display panel using the substrate, and a method for simply manufacturing these at a low cost.

In the substrate of the flat panel display, a plurality of signal lines and a plurality of gate lines 12 crossing the signal lines are formed. This flat display panel has a glass substrate 10 provided with a plurality of pixels 50 defined by the signal lines and the gate lines 12, a plurality of switches (TFT) which are provided between the pixels 50 on the glass substrate 10 and which control each pixel 50, and photoresist layers 24R, 24G and 24B of red, green and blue which are formed on the corresponding pixels 50 and make the corresponding pixels 50 the pixels of red, green or blue. The black area 40 which consists of at least two photoresist layers among these layers is formed between the pixels 50.
