Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a plain roof tile which can not only be made lightweight but also enhance the wind-resistant performance by pegginh the middle portion of an underlap in the flow direction to the roof board or the batten, and can prevent the underlap from cracking due to the impact at the time of pegging. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A ceramic plain tile (1) has an underlap (3) on one side of a tile body (2) and an overap (4) on the other side of the tile body (2) wherein tile boy supporting feet (11) are formed on the backside of the tile body (2) to project downward and to contact the roof board plane (20), an underlap supporting foot (12) is formed on the backside of the underlap (3) to project downward and to contact the roof board (20), and an underlap peg hole (13) for pegging the underlap to the roof board (20) or the batten (23) is formed in the middle portion of the underlap (3) in the flow direction. The plain tile (1) is dry molded, applied with glaze, mounted directly on the hearth roller of a roller hearth kiln and burnt.
