To prevent the generation of an eddy current which is caused by a leakage flux so as to reduce the eddy current loss of a flat rotary machine by forming a spacer and cylindrical case which fixes the outer periphery of a stator coil of resin materials.
A flat rotating machine is provided with a spacer 16 which fixes a stator coil 10 and a cylindrical case 1 which houses the spacer 16, the coil 10, and a rotor 15. Since not only the spacer 16 which fixes the outer periphery of the coil 10 but also the case 1 are formed of resin materials, no eddy current which is caused by a leakage flux is generated in the spacer 16 and case 1 made of the resin materials even when a leakage flux from a permanent magnet 6 flows to an adjacent permanent magnet 6 or to another adjacent permanent magnet 6 through the spacer 16 and case 1. Therefore, no eddy current loss occurs in the rotary machine.
