PURPOSE: To obtain a cell with increased capacity and good shelf life by limiting the amount of graphite in a positive compound, which is to be molded integrally with foamed metal, to a value less than a specific amount and using a specific laminated membrane as a separator.
CONSTITUTION: A positive compound 3 which uses silver (I) oxide, a mixture of silver (I) oxide and manganese dioxide, or silver (II) oxide as an active material and a foamed metal 2 are molded to form a positive electrode 1. A conductive agent of graphite in the positive compound 3 is limited to an amount less than 1wt%, and a laminated membrane of cellophane 6 and polyethylene film 7 graft polymerized with acrylic or methacrylic acid is used as a separator 4 which is to be provided facing to the foamed metal layer 2, where the film 7 is faced to the foamed metal layer 2. A separator 4 which comprises cellophane 6 sandwiched with the films 7 may be used.
