Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cheap flat yarn textile useful as a reinforcing substrate for a FRP, capable of maintaining the flat state even in the flat yarn comprising a thick yarn, and capable of manifesting high strength characteristics, and further to provide a method and an apparatus for producing the flat yarn textile.
SOLUTION: This flat yarn textile is a unidirectional woven fabric obtained by using a warp or a weft comprising a non-twisted carbon fiber flat yarn having 3,000-20,000 d size, 4-16 mm yarn width, ≥30 ratio of yarn width/yarn thickness, and 0.5-2.5 wt.% sizing amount, further using other auxiliary yarn so as to cross the carbon fiber flat yarn and weaving the carbon fiber flat yarn and the auxiliary yarn at an interval of 1-1.2 times as long as the yarn width. Further, the flat yarn textile has ≥0.8 g/cm3 fiber density.
