Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect flows that can be detected by dye penetrant tests and magnetic particle inspections by one time of nondestructive inspection.

CONSTITUTION: In the title method flaws through which a penetrant 5 penetrates and other flaws to which magnetic particles are magnetically attracted are simultaneously detected from an object A to be inspected in such a way that, after the penetrant 5 is applied to the object A and the penetrant 5 penetrates into the object A through flaw sections, the object A is magnetized and a magnetic particle liquid 17 is applied to the object A so that magnetic particles can be magnetically attracted to flow sections by leakage magnetic fluxes generated in the flow sections and, at the same time, the penetrant 5 adhering to the surface of the object A other than the flow sections is washed away with the liquid 17. After washing away the penetrant 5, the object A is dried.
