Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a means for removing the whole or partial flaw of a high temperature cast piece which can be satisfactorily applied to a continuous processing line such as a continuous casting line or the like.
CONSTITUTION: In a line near the outlet of a casting macine including a continuous casting machine, a high temperature cast piece 3 is totally or partially without cooling the cast piece by a high speed polishing fluid jet to continuously remove a defect such as a flaw existing near the surface. Further, the information on the surface flaw of the cast piece 3 is detected by the determination system, and on receiving the information, an abrasive material jetting high presure fluid nozzle 10 is automatically opeated in the flaw grinding system, so that a defective part can be selectively ground so as to remove the defect efficiently and the yield rate of a material can be improved.
