PURPOSE: To permit a single type chuck to grip any of works in different shapes by forming one set of centripetal chucking means and a plurality of parallel chucking means provided at their peripheries within a plate cam.

CONSTITUTION: A plate cam 5 is rotated by a rotational actuator into the condition that a centripetal cam guide groove 12 is closed to move a slide 10 and pawls for chucking 11 along a guide 9, and each work as a piece of small-sized parallel parts 16 is held by this pawl 11 and another pawl for parallel chucking 17. Further a piece of comparatively large-sized parts in the form of parallel plate is chucked by the mentioned two centripetal chucking pawls 11 and a large-sized parallel parts chucking pawl 19. A can follower 8 held at the inner surface of the centripetal chucking cam 12 is put into the central side, and the slide 10 and three centripetal chucking pawls 11 are put together to the inside, and a columnar work is chucked by the three centripetal chucking pawls 11.
