Title:
FLEXIBLE CREPE PAPER AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3454483
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain crepe paper capable of rather increasing the strength and water absorption far from causing deterioration thereof, further increasing the bulkiness in some cases and remarkably improved in flexibility.
CONSTITUTION: This crepe paper is obtained by blending at least one nonwoody pulp having <16 mg/100 m fiber coarseness with at least 5wt.%, preferably 5-80wt.%, especially 10-50wt.% (based on the papermaking raw material) with wood pulp and creping the resultant pulp. The fiber coarseness of the whole papermaking raw material pulp is preferably ≥6mg/100m and <16mg/100m. Nonwoody pulp having g 2.5mm average fiber length and <16mg/100m fiber coarseness [e.g. pulp obtained from sunn hemp (Crotalaria junicea), kenaf (Hibiscus canabinus L.), sisal hemp (Agave sisalana) or abaca (Musa textilis)], having ≥1.1 and <2.5mm average fiber length and <12mg/100m fiber coarseness [e.g. pulp obtained from esparto (Stipa tenacissima or Lygeum spartum) or a bamboo (Bambusa arundinacea, etc.)] and having <1.1mm average fiber length and <8mg/100m fiber coarseness (e.g. pulp obtained from straw) is cited as the nonwoody pulp.
