To provide a flexible expression display device that can form a natural expression by making a movement similar to a mimetic muscle and is excellent in durability.
An expression display device 1 comprises an electrostrictive element 20 having a stretched dielectric layer 21 and electrodes 01X-05X and 01Y-05Y arranged sandwiching the dielectric layer 21. The dielectric layer 21 has a crosslinking body layer consisting of a three-dimensional crosslinking body synthesized from a rubber polymer and a metal alkoxide compound or a compound having a hydrosilyl group. The electrodes 01X-05X and 01Y-05Y contain an elastomer and a conductive material, and a facial expression is displayed by the expansion/contraction of the dielectric layer 21 according to a voltage applied between the electrodes 01X-05X and 01Y-05Y.
