To facilitate the work of attaching a stopper to the end part of a connecting pipe by providing stoppers for regulating a maximum relative moving amount between a spherical ring and the connecting pipe in both end parts and a middle part of a pipe having spherical rings to be slid in both ends and providing the middle part stopper to be moved in a pipe axial direction.
For assembling an flexible pipe joint, first a stopper 13 and a pair of spherical rings 2 are fitted in a connecting pipe 8 in sequence. Then, the stopper 13 is moved to the right of a locking piece 12, then slid until the end surface of the cylindrical part 7 side of the left spherical ring 2 is contacted with the locking piece 12, and then the left end part of a connecting pipe 8 is protruded from the spherical ring 2. In this state, a stopper ring 10 is fitted in the annular recessed groove 8a of the end part of the connecting pipe 8 and fixed by a bolt 11. Then, in the same manner, the stopper ring 10 is fixed to the right end part of the connecting pipe 8, then a case 1 is fitted around each spherical ring 2 to be engaged with a press ring 5 and, by engaging the stopper 13 with the locking piece 12 and preventing rotation with a stop screw 17, assembling is completed.
