PURPOSE: To obtain a flexible polyurethane foam having improved combustion resistance and durability, that is dynamic fatigue, with delayed onset of gelation by mutually reacting a polyol, water, org. polyisocyanate, a catalyst and a chlorinated alkane.
CONSTITUTION: A polyol, water, org. polyisocyanate, polyether polyol and a catalyst for reacting water with the polyisocyanate and a chlorinated alkane are formulated. The polyol is a polymer polyol produced in polyether polyol having 70% prim. hydroxyl groups, of 2.5 functional values and 8-30% ethylene oxide. And, the reaction is proceeded in the absence of polyvinyl chloride and transition metal oxides. A foam stabilizer may be added at the reaction. As polyisocyanate, toluylene diisocyanate (TDI), diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) are used. An alcoholic compd. which does not react with isocyanate group such as glycerin, may be added.
