Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve serviceability and wear resistance of a shaft, by coupling column shaped main bodies with connecting rods, mutually connected by their rings, and constituting them as a serial shaft. CONSTITUTION:Through each small port 2 of many column shaped main bodies 1 consisting of wear resistant metal or the like, a screwed tube 3 is extended. Then on top of a connecting rod 4 having a screwed bar part, in length not more than 1/2 times the main body 1, screwed into the screwed tube 3, a head 5 is integrally provided simultaneously in its top central face a hollowed spherical receiving face 6 is formed. Further on the top central face of the head 5 a semicircular ring 7 is integrally formed in such a manner as to cross the receiving face 6. Then the two connecting rods 4, 4' are mutually linked by the rings 7, 7', and a screwed bar part 4a of the connecting rod 4' and a screwed bar part of the connecting rod 4 are screwed into the screwed tube 3 of the respective main body 1 to connect many of the main bodies 1 and constitute a flexible shaft, thus the shaft is housed in a protective pipe 8 and coupled to a prime mover 10 and driven machine 12 by extending pins 9, 9' or the like through the rings 7, 7'.
