To automatically control the adjustment of a fed power over the entire melting period by taking in an output of a measuring device for measuring an AC power, an injection coil terminal voltage or the like to monitor the situation within a crucible from changes therein while making an induction from an operating condition set value to control the fed power.
A terminal voltage V and a coil current A of induction coils 3a and 3b are measured and taken into a controller 5 to monitor the situation in a crucible 1 using changes in the terminal voltage V and the coil current A while controlling the power to be fed into the induction coils 3a and 3b during the casting of molten metal. The controller 5 is so arranged to allow the setting of operating condition such as a material value, melting temperature of metal to be melted, for example, from a keyboard. An operation pattern and a molten stability power are determined inside by using a set value obtained. This allows combination of the operation pattern, the molten metal stability power and the monitoring of the situation within the crucible 1 using changes in the terminal voltage and the coil current thereby achieving an automatic control of the fed power of the float melting apparatus.
