Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine not only a lack or reduction of drain discharging function but also a loss of drain discharging function.SOLUTION: A supersonic transceiver 14 is installed at an outer surface of a bottom part of a valve chamber 3 of a steam trap 20, connected to a control operation unit 15, and a flow switch 16 is attached to an outlet 6 and connected to the control operation unit 15. The control operation unit 15 controls the supersonic transceiver 14 for every prescribed time, transmits supersonic wave from the outer surface of the bottom part of the valve chamber 3 upwardly, detects a position of a float 9 in reference to a time required after being reflected by the float and returned, keeps a position of the float 9 at a higher level than its prescribed level and if flowing of fluid is detected by the flow switch 16, it judges that a drain discharging function from a valve port 7 is lack or reduced, it keeps the position of the float 9 higher than the prescribed position and at the same time if the flowing of fluid is not detected by the flow switch 16, it judges that the drain discharging function from the valve port 7 is lost.
