Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float type steam trap capable of quickly exhausting drainage when an operation member moves forward.SOLUTION: An exhaust passage 8 communicating a valve chamber 4 with an outlet 7 and having a small-diameter part 8a at a tip and large-diameter parts 8b, 8c on a downstream side is formed on a valve seat member 9, and a float 11 separated from and seating on the valve seat member 9 and opening and closing the exhaust passage 8 is arranged in the valve chamber 4. An operation member 15 that can move forward and backward is arranged in the exhaust passage 8, and foreign matters adhered to an inner face of the small-diameter part 8a of the exhaust passage 8 of the valve seat member 9 are cleaned at a tip 15a of the operation member 15 by the forward and backward movement of the operation member 15. A bi-metal 14 is coupled to the operation member 15, and the operation member 15 is moved forward by deformation of the bi-metal 14 at low temperature, and is moved backward at high temperature. The tip 15a of the operation member 15 is formed into a cylindrical shape, and a communication hole 15b communicating inside and outside is provided at a portion of the tip 15a of the operation member 15 opposed to the large-diameter parts 8b, 8c of the exhaust passage 8 when the operation member 15 is moved forward.
