To prevent a plug to block the flow-out hole of a crucible from obstructing the molten metal being poured in and out to/from a die by retracting the plug from the flow-out hole through a connection pipe and a supporting arm when molten metal is to be poured out.
At the flow-out hole 1b of a crucible 1, a plug 7 is set to prevent falling off. When the plug 7 is removed, a stopper 10a to hold a supporting arm 9 is set free so that the plug 7 does not take such a position as blocking the flow-out hole 1b. An elevating machine 10 is energized downward, and by a linear guide 10c and a roller follower 9a engaged by a guide groove 10d, the supporting arm 9 is put in a downward motion consisting of a combination of a straight fall and horizontal revolution. Thereby the plug 7 is retracted from right under the flow-out hole 1b of the crucible 1. In this condition, a die is elevated by a die elevating mechanism 11 to just under the flow-out hole 1b of the crucible 1, and a molten metal 1a is poured into the die via the flow-out hole 1b while the current of an induction coil 2 is put under control.
