Abstract:
To provide a floating type caliper which can be improved in productivity while having a design plate, and can improve the assembling workability of the design plate.SOLUTION: A floating type caliper comprises: a caliper body 3 having a cylinder part 33 for slidably accommodating a piston 10, a claw part 32 oppositely arranged at the cylinder part 33, a bridge part 31 for connecting the cylinder part 33 and the claw part 32 while straddling a disc rotor R; and a design plate 8. A recess 321 which is recessed toward the outside of a radial direction of the disc rotor R from an end part of the disc rotor R at the inside of the radial direction in a position corresponding to the piston 10 is formed at the claw part 32, a groove part 9 is formed at the recess 321, and the design plate 8 comprises a plate part 81 oppositely arranged at an outer face of the claw part 32, and a holding part 82 fixed to the plate part 81, engaged with the groove part 9 in the recess 321, and making the claw part 32 hold the plate part 81.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
