PURPOSE: To ease a peak shift to be caused by a noise or the like by a method wherein a track at a rear rim of a gap part is so shaped to expand in T that no interface will not exist to generate a virtual gap near the rear rim of the gap part, which eliminates the generation of virtual gap signals to improve an S/N ratio of a reduction signal with the overlapping of no noise on a base line of the reproduction signal.
CONSTITUTION: A gap part is made up of a metal magnetic film 9 and a slider side metal magnetic film 10 alone being confined to a track width TW while a magnetic circuit thereof is made up of metallic films 9 and 10 and a gap 3 serving concurrently to record and reproduce. The films 9 and 10 are formed narrower than the track width TW and expanded in T near the gap 3. This method can prevent degrading in characteristic even if any slight deviation is caused between a C core 1 and the track width and the track width on the side of the slider 2 in the integral formation of the core 1 and the slider 2.
