To obtain a floating type oil-absorbing sheet which sufficiently absorbs oil and does not sink in water by forming a sheet type oil-absorbing layer comprising a natural or synthetic fiber and connecting a float to a part of the oil-absorbing layer.
This floating type oil-absorbing sheet is equipped with of a restangular sheet type oil-absorbing layer 10 comprising a cellulose fiber and with a foamed styrol float 20 connected to a part of the oil-absorbing layer. The float 20 is arranged to form a cross on the surface of the oil-absorbing layer 10, however, it is sufficient that the float 20 is arranged on a part of the oil-absorbing layer 10. For example, the float 20 may be arranged on one side edge 10a of the oil-absorbing layer 10. Thereby, the obtd. sheet has both of the floating property on water and the oil-absorbing property, it can absorb an enough amt. of oil flowing in water, and even after the sheet absorbs oil, it does not sink in the water. By connecting plurality of the floating type oil-absorbing sheets with ropes to constitute a floating type oil-absorbing tool, these sheets can be easily recovered after the absorption of oil, and for example, the sheets can be recovered only by pulling and winding around any oil-absorbing sheet as a base point.
