To prevent wires from being pulled excessively, when a support provided with electric-lamp members on its end part has extended to a maximum height.
In this floodlighting device, a plurality of stepwise thinning supports are extendably connected to each other, by inserting them in the inner circumference of a support 20 fixed to a base block 1, electric-lamp members 3 are mounted on an upper end part of a highest-stage support 23, a wire 4 is wrappingly hung on a pulley 52 and locked on an upper end part 2c of a support 21, wires are hung successively between connected supports in a similar manner, a wire 4' locked on a lower end 2d is hung wrappingly on a pulley 51 on the upper end part of the support 21 and further are hung wrapping on a pulley 53, and a lower end of the wire is wound round a winch 6 provided on the base block. Lock pieces 7 are fixed to places near the locking positions of the wires 4, 4' locked on the portions 2b, 2d, and when the supports have extended to the maximum height and the wires are under tension, the lock pieces are caught in slits 2a in the sidewalls of the support 23 or support 22, so that the fact that the supports have extended to the maximum height is recognized.
