To provide a floor material small in amount of a harmful gas generated at the time of combustion, excellent in wear resistance, fouling resistance and dimension stability, capable of providing homogeneous cushion properties, and capable of providing good stiff feeling in cushion, and further to provide a production method thereof.
This floor material consists of a surface layer 2 and a cushion layer 3 laminated and integrated therewith. Both of the layers are composed of a resin containing no chlorine, and the cushion layer 3 has a structure obtained by heating a nonwoven fabric including a resin containing foamable microcapsules at least at a portion to have a structure of the integrally bulked resin-foamed body 7 and nonwoven fabric 6. The foamable composition comprising the foamable microcapsules and the resin containing no chlorine is impregnated into at least a part of the nonwoven fabric, and the impregnated product is heated to integrally bulk the foamed body of the composition and the nonwoven fabric. The surface material comprising the resin containing no chlorine is laminated and integrated on the bulked product to provide the objective floor material.
