CONSTITUTION: The floor nozzle detecting device of the vacuum cleaner is constituted of a floor nozzle state deciding part 28 for inputting signals of a resistance value detecting part 23 for detecting and comparing a resistance of a positive characteristic thermistor 22 and a floor nozzle switch 24 for setting driving/stopping of a motor 25 in a floor nozzle 21, and outputting signals to a floor nozzle control part 26 for controlling the motor 25 and a floor nozzle operation display part 27. By inputting the resistance value of the positive characteristic thermistor 22 by the resistance value detecting part 23, set confirmation of the floor nozzle 21 and lock confirmation of the motor 25 can be executed simultaneously, and when the floor nozzle 21 is not set and when the motor 25 is locked, a stop signal is outputted, therefore, it does not occur that the rotary brush starts its operation the moment the floor nozzle is set newly. Also, since the floor nozzle operation display part 27 is also turned off, the stop of the rotary brush is known easily.
