To provide a floor post which exerts a quick height adjusting function, has a simple structure, and is manufacturable at a minimally reduced manufacturing cost.

According to the structure of the floor post, a pipe body 4 having a sleeper bearing plate 5 secured to the upper edge thereof is loosely fitted to a threaded rod 3 erected on a base plate 1. A sliding body 8 for preventing rocking is secured to the upper edge of the threaded rod 3, and a rubber O ring 11 is circumferentially arranged on the external surface of the sliding body 8, which functions to brakes the sliding of the threaded rod 3 and the pipe body 4 on each other by abutting on the inner wall surface of the pipe body 4. Further a bearing nut 12 for bearing the pipe body 4 is screwed to the threaded rod 3 at a location lower than the pipe body 4. By this structure, the floor post easily and quickly performs height adjustment, and has an extremely simple structure, thus attaining the reduction of the manufacturing cost.
