To obtain a floor wax which efficiently absorbs volatile components emitted in a living space by compounding a polymer emulsion as the main ingredient with a deodorant.
Preferably, 100 pts.wt. polymer emulsion is compounded with 1-15 pts.wt. deodorant. The polymer emulsion is selected preferably from among (meth)acrylic ester-based ones, styrene-based ones and styrene-acrylic-based ones and if necessary may further contain a natural wax, The deodorant is preferably one based on physical adsorption or chemical reaction, and one having a high capacity for absorbing harmful volatile components (e.g. formaldehyde) emitted by building materials is especially preferable. If necessary, the floor wax may further contain ingredients usually compounded into a floor wax, such as a crosslinker, a film-forming aid, a levelling agent, an antifoaming agent and water. Thus, both a floor material and a living space environment can be maintained in a good state.
