PURPOSE: To obtain a floppy disk controller whose loss time is reduced, by providing a byte controlling circuit, and executing read-out or write of the number of bytes designated to a data in one sector.
CONSTITUTION: A byte controlling circuit 11 is provided with a byte control register and a counting means for counting the number of bytes, and a data request DRQ signal is applied to the byte controlling circuit 11 through a control line 12. When counting of the byte controlling circuit 11 ends, an iRQ1 is outputted from its controlling circuit 11, a gate circuit 13 for constituting dot OR is opened, and an iRQ2 is outputted to a microcomputer MPU 4, therefore, the MPU 4 is detached from a floppy disk control device FDC 5. In this way, the iRQ is outputted immediately after read-out or write of the number of necessary bytes, and transmission and reception to and from the MPU cut off, by which it is possible to obtain a floppy disk controller whose loss time is reduced.
