To provide a flow control device enhancing in reproducibility of flow rate characteristic without leading to an increase in working man-hour.
A communicating hole 22 is formed in a valve body 20. A valve member 30 is spherically formed, so that the inside of the valve body 20 can be axially reciprocated. When the valve member 30 is stopped in a position shown in the drawing, a fluid passage 21 is allowed to communicate with the communicating hole 22 to maximize the flow rate of fuel from a low-pressure pump to a fuel injection pump. When the valve member 30 is moved down in the drawing, a contact part 31 is moved below the lower end part 22b of the communicating hole 22 to interrupt the communication between the fluid passage 21 and the communicating hole 22. Since the communicating hole 22 is circularly formed, and the valve member 30 is spherically formed, the ensuring of shape precision is facilitated, and the reproducibility of flow characteristic is enhanced.
