To provide a flow control valve having a non-contact type detection means, capable of accurately and stably detecting the movement of a valve element to a valve seat in a non-contact state.
An EGR valve 1 includes the valve seat 4 arranged in the flow passage 3 of a housing 2, the valve body 5 to be seated on the valve seat 4, a valve stem 6 integrated with the valve body 5, an actuator 7 for driving the valve stem 6 together with the valve body 5, and a lift sensor 8 for detecting the position of the valve element 7 to the valve seat 4 in a non-contact state. The lift sensor 8 is installed in the housing 2 between the actuator 7 and the valve body 5. The lift sensor 8 includes a magnet and a Hall IC oppositely arranged to the valve stem 6 via an air gap, and the magnet and the Hall IC are fixed to a yoke. A magnetic circuit for passing the magnetism of the magnet is constituted of the valve stem 6, the magnet, the Hall IC and the yoke, and the intensity of a magnetic field of the magnetic circuit changes in response to the movement of the valve stem 6, and the intensity of its magnetic field is detected with the Hall IC.
