PURPOSE: To obtain a solenoid valve suitable for a fuel injection which can reduce a closing valve stroke, elongate an opening valve stroke, and speedily reduce the pressure in a flow passage.
CONSTITUTION: A valve spool 60 is energized in the opening direction by means of a first spring 64. A stopper sleeve 70 fitted outside the valve spool 60 is so arranged that a lower portion is always faced to a valve chamber 58. A second spring 80 is engaged therewith for energizing in a closing direction. When an electromagnetic coil is switched OFF, a short closing valve stroke L1 is obtained for closing the valve with satisfactory responsiveness (a). When the pressure inside the valve chamber 58 is increased during closing of the valve, the stopper sleeve 70 is pressed upward (c). An opening valve stroke shows a large stroke of L1+L2. The pressure inside the pump chamber can be abruptly reduced.
