This can substitute for a conventionally widely used grinding stone, and it is especially a flowable abrasive prepared by incorporating abrasive grains in a jelly-like gel. When it is scattered on a hard material having many parallel narrow grooves, and dull cutlery is reciprocated in the direction of the narrow grooves, excellent grinding effect can be attained. It is convenient for store and handling and desirable for grinding e.g. a domestic kitchen knife.
