Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stabilize and improve the cooling performance of the heat exchanger by providing liquid refrigerant distributing chambers at the top of heat transmission pipes so as to guide the liquid refrigerant contained in the refrigerant that enters as a mixture of two phases uniformly across the entire heat transmission pipes and to maintain a stabilized liquid level so that the liquid refrigerant may uniformly flow down.

CONSTITUTION: The mixed phase refrigerant of refrigerant vapor 5a and liquid refrigerant 6a that has exited out of expansion valves etc. hits the surface of the inner pipe 8 from the refrigerant feed pipe 7 at a substantial speed to be directed in the circumferential direction of the distribution chamber 10b, and the refrigerant vapor 5b enters into the distribution chamber 10a via the notch 9a at the top of the inner pipe 8, and the liquid refrigerant 6b via the notch 9b in the lower position. The liquid refrigerant 6c receives heat from the fluid18 in the heat transmission pipe 2 as it flows down from the port 14 along the surface of the heat transmission pipe 2, forming the liquid film 16. It thereafter becomes vapor 5d which is released outside the heat exchanger from the refrigerant vapor outlet 17. Since the liquid level of the liquid refrigerant 6c is maintained at a constant level by the hight of the liquid refrigerant overflor pipe 11, and any liquid refrigerant exceeding the hight is drained through the overflow pipe, it can be directed to the lower part of the heat transmission pipes without causing mist-up.
