Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowmeter that has high reliability and is available at low cost.SOLUTION: This flowmeter 1 comprises an impeller 42 rotatably supported inside a channel 13, a GMR sensor 53 for detecting a change of magnetic field strength due to the rotation of the impeller 42, and a bias magnet 57 for applying a bias magnetic field to the GMR sensor 53. Since the impeller 42 is a magnetic material that is not magnetized and the GMR sensor 53 and the bias magnet 57 are arranged on the outside of the channel 13, even when a fluid flowing in the channel 13 contains iron powder, in no case will the iron powder be stuck to and deposited on the impeller 42 and prevent smooth rotation of the impeller 42, and it is therefore possible to secure the measurement accuracy of the flowmeter 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
