Abstract:

To provide a fluid bearing device having a sealing structure for holding lubricating fluid in the fluid bearing device over a long period without causing the leakage of lubricant to the outside.

The fluid bearing device comprises: a first seal part formed between an outer peripheral face 3a of a shaft 3 and an inclined face 9a of a cover 9; a second seal part formed between an inclined face 9b of the cover 9 and a face 5e of a sleeve 5; a third seal part formed between a face 31a of a first recessed portion 31 and a face 32a of a second recessed portion 32; a fourth seal part formed between an inclined face 31b of the first recessed portion 31 and an inclined face 32b of the second recessed portion 32; and a fifth seal part formed between an inner peripheral face 8a of a vent hole 8 and a face 33a of a third recessed portion 33. The third and fifth seal parts make best use of wettability of a lubricating fluid 11.
