Abstract:
Provided are a fluid control device and pump connection method that can reduce power consumption when the air pressure in an air-storage unit is low. Said fluid control device (100) is connected to an air tank (9) and provided with piezoelectric pumps (101 and 201), a check valve (202), and a control unit (111). When filling the air tank (9) with pressurized air, the fluid control device (100) first drives one of the piezoelectric pumps (201). Outside air is suctioned in through an intake (107B) via the check valve (202) and sent to the air tank (9) from an outlet (55) in said piezoelectric pump (201). When the pump pressure of said piezoelectric pump (201) exceeds a prescribed pressure, the fluid control device (100) starts driving the other piezoelectric pump (101). Outside air is then suctioned in through another intake (107A), passes through said piezoelectric pump (101) but not the check valve (202), and is sent to the air tank (9) from the outlet (55) in the first piezoelectric pump (201), bringing the air pressure in the air tank (9) up to a target pressure.
