To provide a fluid coupling, capable of reducing the fluctuation of a capacity coefficient with the speed ratio of a pump impeller to a turbine runner while suppressing increase in size, and to provide a starting device.

The fluid coupling includes a pump impeller disposed in a torque transmission path, and a turbine runner disposed downstream of the pump impeller in the torque transmitting path. The pump impeller and the turbine runner include a plurality of pump blades 47 and turbine blades 49, respectively which are arranged at equal intervals in a circumferential direction about a rotation axis S. In each turbine blade 49, each first turbine-side projection part 54 located radially outside is formed so that its top end is arranged downstream of its base end in a rotation direction R, and each second turbine-side projection part 55 located radially inside is formed so that its top end is arranged upstream of its base end in the rotation direction R.
