Abstract:
To provide a fluid coupling equipped with a turbine runner which rotates in accordance with the rotation of a pump impeller taking a working fluid as the medium by keeping the outer shell rotating by obtaining power of an engine filled with the working fluid, a clutch which operates when the rotation speed of the turbine runner reaches a prescribed region, and a damper which reduces impact torque when the clutch is operated, and which is formed by isolating the pump impeller from the outer shell.
In a pump impeller, a plurality of blades are arranged in and fixed to a pump shell formed by molding a metallic plate in a prescribed shape. Tip edges of respective blades are connected to one another by a core.
