Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary joint of such constitution that the contact pressure of sealing faces is constant regardless of the pressure of a fed fluid without wear of the sealing faces even if gas flows through.
SOLUTION: A piston 19 with check valve function is provided in housing 11, 21 of a rotary joint 1. A pressing member 29 constantly energizing forward is inserted in the piston 19, and a pair of sealing members 15, 35 are rigidly fixed to the opposed faces of a rotating member 13 and the pressing member 29. The piston 19 is moved forward by the pressure of liquid fed from a liquid feed port 25 so as to bring a pair of sealing members 15, 35 into contact, and the liquid flows inside the piston 19 toward a tip part of a main spindle 9. At the time of stopping the supply of the liquid to supply pressure air, pressure air is led into a fluid passage in the main spindle 9 from a pressure air supply port 47 through a clearance between a pair of sealing members 15, 35.
