This filter apparatus comprises a filter element 2 having a hollow cylindrical element main body 20 and plate-like seal members 21, 21 jointed to both ends of the element main body 20, a filter case 1 housing the filter element 2, and a pair of presser members 4c, 31 closely attached to the seal members 21 of the filter element 2 in the axial line direction of the filter element 2 to divide the inside of the filter case 1 into a dirty side C1 and a clean side C2 while sandwiching the filter element 2 between the dirty and the clean sides C1, C2. In this case, the seal members 21 and the element main body 20 are joined by ultrasonic welding, which is carried out only in the outer circumferential parts 210 of the seal members 21.
