To improve the fastening responsiveness of a lock-up clutch at the time of reversely driving an engine by providing on a lock-up piston an elongated protruded portion which can sufficiently retain operating fluid between a front cover and the piston without largely changing the structure of the lock-up clutch or the like.
A fluid gearing includes the lock-up clutch 20 in which fixing sections 21a, 21a of a damper spring support member are secured at a plurality of positions on the predetermined circumference inside a friction member 22 of the lock-up piston 21. In the fluid gearing, the radially-extending protruded portions 21b, 21b are projectingly provided on the side of the front cover at positions between the fixing sections 21a, 21a of the support member 24 of the damper springs 23, 23 inside the friction member 22 of the lock-up piston 21.
