Title:
FLUID MACHINE AND ITS CONTROL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60228707
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
The invention relates to devices working according to the injector principle and the use of such devices in centrifugal pumps, turbines and in particular hydrodynamic transmissions (F omega ttinger fluid torque converters). Here, the cross-sectional area of the nozzle (22) in the device (20) working according to the injector principle is variable so that the pressure in front of the nozzle and the flow rate through the nozzle can be regulated. The minimum cross-sectional area of the mixing passage (3) can be changed in such a way that the pressure and/or the flow rate behind the device can be maximised. The delivery flow of a centrifugal pump (25) and the inflow into a turbine (21) can be influenced by means of such devices (20). In particular in a hydrodynamic transmission, such a device is used to split up the fluid flow through the turbine into two fluid flows at its outlet, of which the one is directed through a line (23) and the device (20) back into the turbine inlet, and the other flows through guide wheel, pump (25) and device (20) back into the turbine inlet. The advantage of this arrangement is that the fluid velocities in pump, guide wheel and return line (23) are kept low and thus the flow losses are greatly reduced. At a small speed ratio, the turbine torque thus increases compared with known F omega ttinger converters.
