To reduce heat input quantity to fluid flowing in an expansion mechanism from lubricating oil supplied to the expansion mechanism, in a fluid machine having a compression mechanism compressing the fluid held in a casing together with the expansion mechanism.
The compression mechanism 50 and the expansion mechanism 60 are held in a casing 31 in a compression/expansion unit 30 as a fluid machine. The expansion mechanism 60 constructs a rotary fluid machine. The expansion mechanism 60 is provided with a front head 61, a rear head 62, first pistons 75, and ball bearings 101-104 which are kinds of rolling bearings between each second piston 85 and a shaft 40. Refrigeration oil stored in the casing 31 is supplied to the ball bearings 101-104 through an oil supply passage 90 of the shaft 40. Quantity of refrigeration oil supplied to the ball bearings 101-104 from the oil supply passage 90 can be reduced as compared with a case that the bearing is a plain bearing.
